Web design for haulage & logistics

Four of the businesses CREATE builds for move freight, plant or livestock for a living. Add the motor trade and it is seventeen clients whose business is vehicles.

What we build for these businesses

Hauliers, freight forwarders and specialist transport. Two very different buyers arrive at these sites: a commercial customer doing procurement, and a driver or subcontractor looking for work. Most haulage websites serve the first badly and the second not at all.

Recruitment is the quiet win here. For most operators the careers page ends up earning more than the sales page, because drivers are harder to find than customers.

What a haulage website actually has to do

Freight buyers do not browse. They arrive with a load, a lane and a deadline, and they are deciding in under a minute whether you can take it. That makes the job of a haulage site almost the opposite of a brochure: the useful information has to be at the top, in plain language, and it has to survive being read on a phone in a yard.

In practice the questions are always the same. What do you carry, what weight and dimensions can you handle, which countries or regions do you run, what licences and accreditations do you hold, and who do I ring right now. A site that answers those five things above the fold beats a site with better photography every time.

The accreditations matter more here than in almost any other trade. Operator licence, FORS, CLOCS, ADR where relevant, insurance levels, ISO certifications. Buyers use them as a filter before they use anything else, so they belong on the page as text a search engine can read, not buried in a PDF or baked into an image nobody can index.

Getting found in freight

Haulage is one of the sectors where being a Devon agency stops mattering, which is exactly why we like it. Nobody searching for a bloodstock transporter or an international groupage operator cares where their web designer sits. They care whether the site that comes up can do the job.

The searches are specific and low-volume. Almost nobody types "haulage company". They type the lane, the load or the licence: abnormal load haulage, ADR tanker work, groupage to Spain, horsebox transport. Those phrases have modest traffic and very high intent, and they are winnable because most operators in the sector have websites that never mention them.

AI answers are becoming a real route in. When a logistics manager asks an assistant for operators who run a particular lane or carry a particular class, the answer is assembled from sites that state those facts plainly and consistently. Specialists do far better than generalists here, which suits this sector.

Directories and trade bodies still carry weight. Consistent name, address and phone across the trade listings is unglamorous work that quietly moves the needle, and we will tell you which ones are worth the time.

What it costs and how long it takes

Landing pages start from £500. Brochure sites, e-commerce and bespoke platforms are quoted to scope, because pretending otherwise produces a number that changes the moment we understand the job. You get a fixed price before anything starts, and it does not move unless you ask for something new.

On timescales: a simple page can be turned around in 24 to 48 hours, most brochure sites go live in three to six weeks, and e-commerce or custom builds run six to twelve weeks. The variable is almost never us. It is how quickly copy, photography and technical detail come back, and we will tell you at the start which of those sits on your side of the line.

We are founder-led, so the person who quotes the job is the person who builds it. Nothing is subcontracted, and you are not paying for an account manager to relay messages between you and the person doing the work.

Questions we get asked

Do you only work with hauliers in the South West?

No. These operators are in Taunton, Exeter and Southport, and the motor trade work runs from Glasgow to Hong Kong.

Can you build a driver recruitment section?

Yes, and we usually argue for it. For most operators the careers page generates more value than the sales page.

What about O-licence, FORS and compliance pages?

They belong on the site and they matter to procurement. We build them properly rather than as a PDF nobody can find.

How long does it take?

Most sites go live in three to six weeks. Quote or booking systems run six to twelve.

Who does the work?

Dom does. Founder-led, so the person who quotes the job builds it.
