Why Location Has Never Defined How We Work

Why Location Has Never Defined How We Work

There is a version of this agency story that leans heavily on geography. Devon sunsets. Dubai skylines. The kind of visual shorthand that fills agency Instagram grids and says very little about actual capability. We have never been particularly interested in telling that story.

We are based in Devon. We have an office in Dubai. Both facts appear on our website because they are true, not because either location is a selling point in itself. What matters — the only thing that has ever mattered — is whether the work is any good and whether it moves the needle for the businesses commissioning it.

That sounds obvious. In practice, surprisingly few agencies operate that way.

Five Continents, One Set of Standards

Since 2001, we have delivered more than 500 projects for clients across five continents. Some of those clients are within driving distance of our Devon office. Others are in time zones where our working day starts before theirs ends. The brief does not change depending on where the invoice is addressed.

Every build, every campaign, every piece of SEO work carries the same expectation: it has to perform. Not look impressive in a credentials deck — actually perform. Rankings climbed, conversions improved, revenue generated. That is the metric we hold ourselves to regardless of whether the client is in Exeter or Dubai or somewhere considerably further afield.

What Global Reach Actually Requires

Working across multiple continents is not a matter of having a second office on a map. It requires understanding that markets behave differently, audiences have different expectations, and the same message rarely lands identically in different cultural contexts.

We have spent over two decades building that understanding through direct project experience — not through reading trend reports. When a client in the Gulf needs e-commerce built to serve a specific regional audience, that is a different problem from serving a UK consumer base. Both are solvable; neither is solved by applying the same template twice.

Founder-led delivery means there is one person accountable for how those differences are handled. No account management layer translating briefs into something unrecognisable. No junior team interpreting a senior strategy. The person who scopes the project is the person who sees it through.

Why the Devon-Dubai Combination Works

On paper, Devon and Dubai seem like an unusual pairing. In practice, the combination gives us genuine reach across European and Middle Eastern markets, with a client base that reflects both.

Devon keeps us grounded — practically and literally. It is where a significant portion of the team works, where many of our long-standing UK client relationships are managed, and where the agency was built from scratch over the better part of a decade before the Dubai operation came into being.

Dubai gives us a foothold in a market that rewards precision, moves quickly, and has very little patience for agencies that treat international work as a secondary offering. That pressure has sharpened how we approach every project, not just the ones originating from the Gulf.

The Businesses That Call Us

The clients who tend to find us are not always looking for a local agency. They are looking for an agency that will not require extensive hand-holding, will give them a direct line to the person making decisions, and will be honest when a brief needs pushing back on.

That description fits a founder-led independent better than it fits a large network agency with regional offices. We are not competing with the multinational holding groups. We are the alternative for businesses that have worked with one and found the experience wanting.

Sector-wise, we cover the range: e-commerce, professional services, hospitality, property, health, and more. The common thread is not the industry — it is that the client wants the work done properly and wants to be able to speak to someone who actually did it.

What Comes Next

We are not planning to plant flags in additional cities for the sake of it. Growth, for us, has always come through the quality of the work rather than the expansion of the letterhead.

If you are a business with a project that needs doing properly — whether you are based in Bristol, Bahrain, or anywhere between — the conversation starts the same way. You tell us what you are trying to achieve, we tell you honestly whether and how we can help.

Take a look at our portfolio to see the range of work we have delivered across sectors and markets. If it looks like the kind of output you are after, we would be glad to talk.
